As specialists in mental health treatment and rehabilitation, CBT Services provides a range of services and therapeutic strategies that are tailored to the individual needs of our clients.
Our services include:
Our CBT assessments are an opportunity to diagnose a range of common mental health disorders. These disorders include anxiety and mood disorders, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).
Individuals and therapists work together to identify the core clinical issues, and the therapist will then make recommendations on the treatment plan or other recommended courses of action.
The CBT assessment usually focuses on difficulties in the here and now and relies on the therapist and client developing a shared view of the individual's problems. This then leads to the identification of personalised, time-limited therapy goals and strategies using specific psychological and practical skills to enable the client to tackle their problems by harnessing their own resources.

INDEPENDENT PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS
Clinical psychology aims to reduce psychological distress and to enhance and promote psychological wellbeing.
A clinical psychologist helps to diagnose a wide range of range of psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, learning disabilities, child and family problems and serious mental illness.
The psychological assessment utilises a variety of methods including psychometric tests, interviews and direct observations of behaviour to determine an individual's problems and a subsequent treatment plan.

INDEPENDENT PSYCHIATRIC ASSESSMENTS
Our psychiatric assessments are an opportunity to diagnose more severe presentations of psychiatric illness.
The priority is to quickly assess and minimise risk, and to ensure appropriate access to mental health care resources is achieved.
Psychiatric assessments typically include an in-depth discussion around the individual's entire psychiatric history, including previous treatment courses; medical history; social background, including educational level and marital, employment, and legal histories; family health history; and the patient's response to important life events and changes, as well as developmental history and the use or abuse of alcohol, drugs, and tobacco. When appropriate, the physician must ask about suicidal thoughts and plans.
The personality profile that emerges will suggest a range of traits, obsessions, compulsions, delusions, and symptoms that will be incorporated to determine a treatment plan or other recommended courses of action.

INDIVIDUAL CBT TREATMENT PROGRAMMES
Our CBT is a short-term treatment which takes 6 to 20 individual, weekly sessions. The number of sessions will depend on the type of problem and on the commitment of the client. Each session will last for either 50 minutes to one hour.
The aim of treatment is for the client and therapist to work in partnership to identify patterns of thought and behaviour which are causing problems, and to plan a structured way forward with agreed practical objectives.
The success of CBT depends on the active participation of the client in the whole process. At this session, the client is asked to outline their specific problems and the goals which they'd like to work towards. This information informs the planning for subsequent visits, including the treatment aims and tasks. Further sessions involve discussing agreed topics in a problem-focused and practical manner.
A key part of the treatment is the homework assignments devised by the client with the therapist. These may include reading material or specific tasks which give the client the opportunity to test out and practice techniques learned, or to expose themselves gradually to feared situations.
Common CBT techniques include assertiveness and social skills training; challenging irrational beliefs and replacing them with alternatives; thought stopping; graded exposure; and relaxation techniques.

Our physiotherapists are trained to diagnose problems in the joints and soft tissues of the body. They work with individuals to maximize their potential by addressing their human function and movement.
The physiotherapy assessment takes account of variations in health status using physical approaches to promote, maintain and restore physical, psychological and social wellbeing. This enables the client-therapist team to devise a safe exercise programme tailored to individual needs, which helps build mental and physical health.

Our occupational therapists help people of all ages who have physical, social or mental health problems to adapt to all aspects of their life with more independence, confidence and control.
Most commonly, occupational therapists work with disabled people to enable them to maximize their skills and abilities. Occupational therapy assessments typically include a comprehensive assessment of the home and job site, which enables the client-therapist to develop customised treatment programmes to improve an individual's ability to perform daily activities.
